Our in house advocate represented the defendant who has a history of committing sexual offences against children and had pleaded guilty to further offences of a similar nature. He had been deemed dangerous at the previous sentencing and given an extended sentence to reflect the seriousness of the offending. We were able to successfully persuade the court that in these circumstances the defendant need not be deemed dangerous and a determinate sentence was appropriate.
